Republican Leaders Make Two Great Points
July 12, 2011
Speaker of the House John Boehner at a press conference today:
. . . the fact is that House Republicans have a plan. We passed our budget back in the spring, outlined our priorities. Where is the president’s plan? When’s he going to lay his cards on the table?
Top Senate Republican Mitch McConnell today on the floor of the Senate:
After years of discussions and months of negotiations, I have little question that as long as this president is in the Oval Office, a real solution is unattainable.
The Wall Street Journal explains further, “Mr. McConnell said he concluded after the latest negotiations that the administration had ‘expressed a fundamental unwillingness’ to agree to significant spending cuts.”
To conservatives who sometimes get pessimistic and say there’s basically no difference between Republicans and Democrats: Sometimes there’s a huge difference. Sometimes Republicans stand firm, like Gandalf against the Balrog. It’s what we elected them for, and they’re doing it. Give credit where credit is due!
To liberals: Have you considered conservatism?

I will be fully in favor of living in a plutocracy when I am making millions of dollars a year. How much do you make again?
