‘To a Jeweler’
January 25, 2015
Found in an old Mad Magazine (1971, No. 147):
Young, happy couples, hand in hand,
Once strolled into your shop; How sad and lonely you must feel
To see their visits stop; And now your diamonds sit unsold
Despite appeals impassioned; For, after all, who needs a ring
When marriage is old-fashioned?

(BTW, diamond engagement rings are a scam, anyway.)
