Flowers, Bees, Spider

spider, flowers

The other day I walked by a patch of gorgeous flowers.  Bees were all over them, busily collecting nectar from one and then another.  I also noticed an enormous yellow-and-black spider, in its web between the flowers, just sitting and waiting.

In the midst of all this beauty and industry, there’s a creature that has no other agenda for the day than to prey on those who have done the work to create this beauty.  There’s a metaphor in there somewhere.
