Washington “a Seedy Place”

August 26, 2011

In an interview on Laura Ingraham’s radio show yesterday, Ingraham asked candidate Rick Perry about some people’s concerns that he’s a bit of cowboy, that he may sometimes “shoot from the hip”.  In his answer, he said, among other things (quote is approximate),

I’ve never been an establishment figure, and frankly I don’t want to be.  I dislike Washington, I think it’s a seedy place.

Maybe that’s not really shooting from the hip in an answer to a question about shooting from the hip; maybe it’s part of a carefully cultivated “cowboy” persona.  I don’t care, it’s still a great line.

Get this man a nomination!

If Rick Perry hate Washington so much, why is he trying to go there? I Love all people to include Rick Perry. However i would not vote for him until he stands up and accept his mistakes and be a real man. Former President Bush left Texas to be come President and he turn the reins of Power over to Then LT Governor Rick Perry. Since that time, He has been the longest standing Governor Of The Beautiful State of Texas. He also Had A Republican President that controlled Washington. Why did Governor Rick Perry not fix the border problems then? He had 8 years to fix the border with the help of now Former President Bush and He did nothing. Now He blames President Obama for a job that Rick Perry was elected to do and failed. Rick Perry needs to fix himself, and Texas before he can Fix Washington. We need a President that will be honest with all Americans and not take us as fools.

I live in TX and immigration is big business . In life, timing is everything. Its not what we try to do that is always important. If Perry wanted to pass an immigration bill right now His own party might try to stop him. Its all Politics and the good people that lives on both side of the border have to pay the price for their political gain.

    • What can I say? I agree that illegal immigration is a big problem, and that addressing it is made more difficult by the fact that business has an interest in the cheap labor.

This is scary stuff. For someone who purports to be intellectually driven, I don’t know how you can support these people.
